Three new cafes to try in Mumbai this month! 📍 Three new cafes to try in Mumbai this month!

📍@pleasepardonourfrench: Opened just yesterday in a Ballard Estate bylane, this is @poojadhingra's newest venture, a charming French cafe, with a touch of the boudoir. They're currently serving desserts and beverages, while the savoury menu launches by end of the month. Expect salads, eggs, French toast, and more. Love that the desserts are not super-sweet and have unexpected elements (basil oil laced in the strawberry+cream, yes please!) My passion fruit cold brew came in a wine glass, felt like I was having a cheeky drink in the middle of the day 🥂

📍@thepure_kitchen: I have been a fan of the healthy but delicious eats that the Chembur cloud kitchen delivered, and now they have come up with a new cafe in Bandra. Opened last month, this tiny but bright space is perfect for quick bites - love their Vietnamese rice paper rolls, open-face sandwiches, pesto pasta, and orange cake. Don't miss getting your caffeine (or matcha) fix from the cute takeaway window ☕

📍 @chorusworld.cafe: On the second floor of the @chorusworld atelier, this chic cafe brings craft onto the plate. Like the signature Chorus Quilt with a patchwork of five different dips, the Lace & Leaf Salad with embroidered garnish, moreish pastas, and scrumptious desserts in really pretty serveware. Gonna drop by for their high tea soon! 🧁

Bonus 📍@bare.bombay: Opened at Altimus, Worli in December, this hybrid space combines a @boojeecafe, a contemporary art gallery, a bar shaking up fab cocktails, and a minimalistic dining room. Chef @aman.singhal23's inventive plates are a treat, whether it's the arty crisps & dips, the meaty lion's mane shawarma, nori kulcha, and more. The dessert program is by @chefbakhtiani, and you better believe when I  tell you that we wiped the chocolate terrine clean 🍽️

The short case for a long weekend in Singapore — The short case for a long weekend in Singapore — a five to six-hour flight, multiple direct connections from India, and a city designed for efficiency where you move from temples to cocktails and from forests to galleries without ever feeling rushed.

Check out my 72-hour Singapore itinerary that goes beyond the obvious, link in bio. Written for @thenodmag X @visit_singapore

Did you know that the former maharaja of Gwalior h Did you know that the former maharaja of Gwalior had a model silver train that used to run on its own little track on a long banquet table distributing wine, food, and cigars? This and other curiosities await when you visit Jai Vilas Palace, a sprawling Italianate-style 19th-century royal residence in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The erstwhile royal family of Gwalior i.e. the Scindias still live in one part of the palace while the rest is a museum where you are bedazzled by their lavish lifestyle. Case in point — the (frankly over-the-top) Durbar Hall with two gigantic crystal chandeliers, an all-crystal fountain, a silver buggy, the gilded Napoleon Table with an enamel portrait of the French general, exquisite china, and more.

Here are some photos from when I visited @gwaliorpalace last month.

One of the highlights of my trip to Chhattisgarh l One of the highlights of my trip to Chhattisgarh last month was staying at @kankerpalaceheritage, a lovely heritage homestay by the erstwhile royal family of Kanker. The pale yellow palace was built in 1837 for British officers, and was later converted into a residence for the (now titular) royal family, the current generation of which still lives here. Five rooms in the palace are open as part of the homestay, plus two in the annex.

We stayed in one of the nicest rooms in the palace, full of old-world charm (separate powder room), vintage furniture (four-poster bed!), and modern facilities. Meals were delicious, homemade, and showcased Chhattisgarh cuisine. Our hosts — Jai Pratap & Upasna Deo — were gracious and warm, making us feel completely at home. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're visiting Bastar. The palace organises visits to nearby tribal villages and natural attractions.

I love it when work takes me to parts of India tha I love it when work takes me to parts of India that I haven't explored earlier!

For an ongoing guidebook project, I got a chance to spend some time in Chhattisgarh last month. Over five days in Bastar, I visited several tribal villages, gaped at all the produce in colourful markets, attended a vibrant village fair, and ate delicious meals in tribal homes that I was graciously invited into.

Here are a few snippets from the trip.
Happy New Year, folks! Hope 2026 is filled with lo Happy New Year, folks! Hope 2026 is filled with love and light, and brings amazing travels, fab food, and great coffee ☕☕

In photos: @bastarheritagecafe in Jagdalpur, which was my favourite hangout when I was in the city a couple of weeks ago. It's a charming cafe with indoor-outdoor seating, including an airy patio with views of Dalpat Sagar Lake.

The food menu has Indian and global flavours, but we stuck to local Bastariya dishes like fara (pic 7, steamed pasta of sorts made with leftover rice and rice flour), chilla (pic 8, rice flour pancakes), and chausela (pic 9, rice flour poori with tangy tomato chutney). And the best part - they serve fantastic locally harvested Darbha coffee (pic 10)!

Here's to a new year filled with more fun adventures around the world 🤞🏼🧿

I went to Greece on a holiday, but I couldn't NOT I went to Greece on a holiday, but I couldn't NOT write about it! So here are two food stories that were published recently.

For @livemintlounge, I wrote an ode to bougatsa (pic 2), a flaky filo pastry pie stuffed with mildly sweet semolina custard that I absolutely fell in love with.

And for @the.gourmet.edit, I reminisced about all the food I scarfed in Athens, including on a particularly gluttonous tour with @athenswalkstours; pic 12 is of my guide Katerina demonstrating how to drink ouzo correctly 🇬🇷

Mandu moments! This sleepy little town just 2 hou Mandu moments!

This sleepy little town just 2 hours from Indore surprised me with its plethora of historic monuments — from the hilltop Roopmati Pavilion and the pretty-in-pink-sandstone Baz Bahadur Palace to the imposing Jahaz Mahal and the angular precision of Hindola Mahal, plus the many-pillared Jami Masjid, Hoshang Shah's tomb (India's first one in marble), and much more.

Another highlight for me was tasting the Malwa speciality, dal paniya (last 2 pix). It's similar to dal bati, but the bati is made with maize flour and is roasted wrapped in leaves over dung cake fire. Loved the smoky flavours paired with spicy dal and some delicious aloo sabzi on the side #delishtravels #delisheats
