The October issue of @travelandleisureindia featur The October issue of @travelandleisureindia features a story that's rather special to me — about my experience deep in the Peruvian Amazon with @rainforestexpeditions, @perutravel.me, and @oftripsandtales. It's a beautiful 8-page spread with some stunning photography by @carlosgonzales.peru (and others). That's me hand-modelling in the first pic and the last photo in the feature is shot by me.

Incidentally, becoming a citizen scientist for the groundbreaking Wired Amazon programme by Rainforest Expeditions is listed as one of @lonelyplanet's "Best Experiences in 2026". More information in the feature.

Thank you @abhanjdeo @samreen43 @alfeajamal for the opportunity to tell this story. And 'm so stoked to have a print byline in T+L after a while! #delishtravels
A few glimpses of Thessaloniki 🇬🇷 Greece's A few glimpses of Thessaloniki 🇬🇷

Greece's second-largest city is a vibrant port located at the crossroads of East and West. It has everything from ruins of Roman-era arches and palaces to stunning Byzantine churches and lively Ottoman-style markets.

Don't miss visiting the Upper Town (Ano Poli) with its winding cobbled streets, traditional houses, and panoramic views. It's a steep climb, so I recommend taking the bus up (just €0.6) and walking back down to the city centre.

Continue on further to Thessaloniki's highlight — a lovely waterfront promenade where you can catch a glorious sunset over the Aegean #delishtravels

Athens beyond the Acropolis... Here's what to see Athens beyond the Acropolis...

Here's what to see and do in the Greek capital after you have visited its star attraction:

1 - Temple of Hephaestus, a remarkably well-preserved temple that dates to 5BC

2 - Hadrian's Gate, a monumental gateway built to honour Hadrian's many benefactions to the city

3 - Temple of Zeus of which only a few pillars remain but it was once the largest temple in Greece

4 - Hadrian's Library, remains of what was once the largest library in Athens

5 - Agora of Athens, ancient marketplace

6 - Catch the Changing of the Guards in front of the Greek Parliament Building (at Syntagma Square), which takes place daily at the top of every hour, plus a more elaborate parade every Sunday at 11 am

7 - The National Garden, which was designed in the 19th century as the royal family’s private garden, and is today a much-beloved green oasis in the city

8 - Zappeion, a large, palatial building in the national garden

9-11 - The so-called Athenian Trilogy i.e. three elegant, Neoclassical buildings comprising the National Library, University, and Academy of Athens

12 - Visit the Varvakios central municipal market to buy local produce

13 - Monastiraki square, central square with many bars and restaurants, plus a Sunday flea market

14 - Admire the street art

Golden hour in Athens 😍 The Greek capital has Golden hour in Athens 😍

The Greek capital has some cool rooftop bars, particularly in the Monastiraki neighbourhood, which offer a great view of the Acropolis. Of course, the drinks are a bit pricey, but you get stunning pictures like these 🥂

It was a cloudy evening and rain was forecast but I managed to be at @360cocktailbar just before sunset to catch the Parthenon gleam golden! There was a slight drizzle too, but that just meant a cool rainbow pic 🌈

When in Athens, everyone goes to Plaka — and for When in Athens, everyone goes to Plaka — and for a good reason. It is, after all, the city's oldest district and is filled with shops, restaurants, and bars. But climb the famous Plaka Steps (pic 2) and wander up a nondescript street and you'll emerge in Anafiotika, a picturesque neghbourhood just below the Acropolis.

If it reminds you of a quaint Greek village, you're not mistaken. Anafiotika (literally, little Anafi) dates to the mid-19th century when builders from the Cycladic island of Anafi came to Athens to work on King Otto’s palace. They started building their homes on the northern slope of the Acropolis following the architectural style of their homes in the Cyclades. Large parts of the neighborhood were destroyed in the 1950s for archaeological excavations. Today, Anafiotika is home to less than 50 houses, but the island vibe still remains.

Not many tourists make it up here, but it's definitely worth a visit. Stroll its cobbled streets, admire its pretty houses, and say hello to the cats. But remember that it's a residential area so, please be quiet and respectful #delishtravels

Day trip from Athens to Delphi. I took a tour tha Day trip from Athens to Delphi.

I took a tour that included a coach transfer from Athens and a guided tour of the Delphi archaeological site and its attached museum. You can even sign up for the lunch-included option, but I chose to have it on my own - my first Greek salad and espresso freddo of the trip! The coach brings you back to the city, so it's a convenient option particularly if you're not driving yourself #delishtravels

(Day trip from Athens, Delphi, Temple of Apollo, UNESCO World Heritage Site)
I have always been a sucker for ancient Greece. As I have always been a sucker for ancient Greece. As a kid, I had this hardbound book of Greek myths that I used to read (and re-read). So naturally, visiting the Acropolis and the Parthenon was pretty high up on my list. And I finally made the trip happen!

It was not without challenges though - the day of my scheduled Acropolis tour, various unions in Greece called for a general strike to protest high taxes and longer working hours. This meant that public transport wasn't available and I had to walk a fair bit to get to the Acropolis . Which itself opened at 10 am instead of 8am as is usual. Obviously, multiple morning tours converged at the same time and the site was jam packed. But the queues mostly moved in an orderly fashion. There was forecast of clouds and rain too, but the weather held, as you can tell from the photos.

I had a wonderful guide as well who regaled us with the legends of Athena, Poseidon, Zeus, and the rest of the pantheon. While you can explore the site on your own or with an audio guide, I recommend taking a guided tour. And don't miss visiting the Acropolis Museum later - it has one of the most stunning collections in history #delishtravels

Munich eats and drinks — from traditional Bavari Munich eats and drinks — from traditional Bavarian fare to Italian, Japanese, and Michelin-starred plates, you will find everything here. Not to mention my favourite haunt, Viktualienmarkt, a 19th-century farmers' market turned into a gourmet paradise.
