Weekend Breakfast Ideas

Pin
Breakfast – the most important meal of the
day, because you’re literally breaking your overnight fast. What you eat at
this meal makes or breaks your day. As La Rochefoucauld said “To eat is a
necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art”. So a filling breakfast with a
combination of carbs, proteins and fat will kick-start your day and keep you
going. And a simple Sandwich – meat tucked between two pieces of bread, as ordered
by the 4th Earl of Sandwich – can be a complete breakfast.
So here are couple of breakfast ideas for this
weekend that are quick to put together. One is an open face sandwich, which is
relatively low fat since it uses turkey and the other is an indulgent one with
bacon and mayonnaise! So take your pick, try one (or both) this weekend and let
me know how you liked it. Bon appetit!
Turkey Cheese Melt

You’ll need:
  • 4 slices of Multi-grain Bread
  • 8 slices of Turkey salami
  • 12 slices of Tomato (cut round and thin)
  • English Mustard
  • Cheddar or Buffalo Mozzarella Cheese

How to:
  • Spread some mustard on each of the bread
    slices.
  • Place 2 turkey slices on each bread slice.
Then place 3 tomato slices on each bread slice.
  • Top with grated cheese.
  • Place under a hot grill (around 220C) for
10-15 minutes, or until the cheese melts.
  • Remove and serve right away!

Egg & Bacon Sandwich
You’ll need:
  • 4 slices of Multi-grain Bread
  • 4 rashers of rind-less Bacon
  • 2 Eggs
  • Mayonnaise or Cheese Spread (I use a
    garlic-cheese spread)
  • English Mustard

How to:
  • Fry the bacon in its own fat. Set
    aside.

  • Fry both the eggs together in the bacon fat
(no need to add any oil or butter). Divide into quarters and set aside.

  • Slather some mayonnaise or cheese spread on 2
slices of bread. Spread some mustard on the other two slices.
  • Now assemble – on the mayo-spread bread slice
place a quarter of the fried egg, top with a rasher of bacon, then another egg
quarter and another bacon rasher. Place the mustard-spread bread slice on top.
    Repeat for the other sandwich.
  • Indulge!

Great breakfast ideas for less busy days. Have a super week.

Ps I know you have probably been busy. Just a wee reminder that it would be great if you followed Carole's Chatter back. Cheers
