A whirlwind 36 hours in LA! ⭐ Checked-in at the W A whirlwind 36 hours in LA!

⭐ Checked-in at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills where my expansive junior suite came with a huge balcony and sweeping views of Beverly Hills (all the way to the Hollywood sign!)

⭐ Dinner at Baldi where Chef Edoardo Baldi serves up family-style Tuscan fare.

⭐ VIP LA Food Tour getting a taste of Beverly Hills with a dash of history and architecture (not to mention the Erewhon smoothie made famous by Hailey Beiber!)

⭐ Visited LA's newest opening, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. Designed like an enormous silver spaceship, the museum houses an eclectic collection that moves effortlessly from Renaissance paintings and Norman Rockwell illustrations to comic books, animation, and film. It's a treat for Star Wars fans, of course, but will also engage art and design lovers.

⭐ Dinner at La Dolce Vita, a Beverly Hills institution and a favourite of Frank Sinatra's.

⭐ Breakfast of champions at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills before heading to the next destination!

It was a great start to this lovely press trip #hosted by @visitcalifornia @sarthaglobal
One of my favourite experiences from the recent US One of my favourite experiences from the recent US trip was a morning spent amidst the redwoods in Santa Cruz County.

We started with an excursion on a vintage American steam train at Roaring Camp Railroads. The train runs up the steepest narrow gauge railroad in North America and goes through a virgin redwood forest that's never been logged. We sat in one of open-top carriages that gave fantastic views all-round but particularly of the canopy.

We then went for a walk in the park i.e. Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park with its soaring redwoods, including the tallest at 277 feet/86 meters tall, aptly named The Giant. The walk was especially informative and fun because of the interpreter Emily who told us so much about the forest ecosystem. The trail ended with a forest meditation session with Sit.Feel.Heal Meditation Centre, a truly immersive experience in a stunning setting.

Before hopping on the train, we had what turned out to be my favourite breakfast of the trip - a buttermilk biscuit sandwich, assorted pastries, and an iced espresso with orange bitters at The Grove Café and Bakery.

Such a fab morning #hosted by @visitsantacruz @visitcalifornia @sarthaglobal

It has been an arty week! Beginning with 'En Rout It has been an arty week!

Beginning with 'En Route' at Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum, a creative collaboration between Maria Grazia Chiuri, Karishma Swali, and the Chanakya School. Originally commissioned by the Vatican Apostolic Library in 2025, the installation now makes its India debut with new site-specific works inspired by the Museum’s historic collections. I loved the monumental embroidered map of Mumbai and the stunning reimagination of Elephanta Caves (new for this exhibition), as well as the handcrafted globes (first unveiled at the Vatican). The exhibition is on view until Oct 20; don't miss it (pics 1-7).

Yesterday was #ArtNightThursday so naturally, I did a bit of gallery-hopping in Colaba & Fort.

📍Ragini Bhow's first solo exhibition, 'Bolting' at Nature Morte, which brings together a new body of paintings, sculptures, and drawings (pics 8 & 9). Until Oct 25.

📍At Jhaveri Contemporary, Jake Grewal's debut India solo, 'The Distance We Inherit' is imbued with a pervasive sense of foreboding where faceless figures wander indeterminately through hazy landscapes (pics 10-12). Until Oct 17.

📍It was a full house at Tarq where Parag Tandel unveiled 'खारी गाबोली / Salted Caviar', a wide range of works across sculpture, cyanotype, and textile. I particularly liked the tactile installations (pics 13-15). Until Oct 17.

📍'Harvesting Light' at Chemould Prescott Road is Sheetal Gattani's new solo curated by collector Anurag Khanna. My favourite were the large canvasses, drenched in colour, almost immersive and contemplative (pics 16-18). Until Oct 10.

I had never been to Chandigarh, and now I've visit I had never been to Chandigarh, and now I've visited it twice this month!

This time around, it was courtesy of @tandemcommunication who brought us over to experience VTC Group's f&b offerings in the city. We began at the sprawling @tubu.ind with a hearty al fresco brunch (their hummus shakshouka is ace) and plenty of coffee (tried my first ube latte too). Later in the evening, we checked out their rocking rooftop bar & kitchen @tulum.jungleroof.

But the main reason we were there was to preview @thebackroom_love, a pour-only bar serving batched cocktails that are named by three-digit codes (a nod to Chandigarh's sector numbering system). Designed by French architect @jeanlouisdeniot, the retro-futuristic space is anchored by a huge oval bar in the centre. Drinks are interesting and are served with a selection of global bar bites. We peeked into their lab where the bar team (helmed by @gurung_tanka) tinkers around, experimenting with cocktail recipes and batching them with laboratory precision.

The next day, we also got a taste of VTC Group's soon-to-launch restaurant; suffice to say that the food is 🤌🏽🤌🏽

In between all the eating and drinking, we also managed to squeeze in a couple of arty jaunts to the Government Museum and Art Gallery as well as Le Corbusier Centre.

Thanks @saanyag, @akii.v, and @tejasvi.arneja for your warm hospitality, team Tandem (@namratalaungani89 and @lakshitameenakshi) for organising everything, and fellow journos who made the whole experience fun 🍸🥃

We stayed at the upscale @novotelchandigarh.

2) "Roots of a City - The Pathare Prabhus of Mumbai" at the Mumbai Gallery, which focuses on one of the city's earliest settlers and their contribution to its development.

3) "Krishna Reddy: The Many and the One" at the JNAF Gallery, which explores the artist's legacy through nearly 50 years of his work, presented alongside other artists in his orbit.
