A few action-packed days in Singapore this week at A few action-packed days in Singapore this week at #ILTMAsiaPacific 2026 @iltm_events

Met so many travel and hospitality folks as well as journalists and editors from around the world. There were many interesting insights, some new openings to look forward to, and plenty of good food!  Obviously, I got through it with lots of coffee (and some Champagne 🥂🥂)

The schedule was packed but I did manage to sneak in some hawker centre fare plus a nice Martini at @atlasbarsg 🍸🍸

And a big shout-out to the super-fun India contingent (including the Malaysia/Singapore expats) - @akankshamsingh @charukesi @shalbhasarda @meherbee @aindrilamitra & @07chaitalip plus @saadhvimehra 🌸🌸

I stayed at @panpacificsingapore where my suite came with sweeping Marina Bay views 😍😍
Birthday staycation at The Kin, Mumbai. This love Birthday staycation at The Kin, Mumbai.

This lovely design hotel at Shivaji Park was the perfect place to spend the weekend. Loved its quirky-cool aesthetic (I'm a sucker for teal) and the sea view from our spacious room on the 3rd floor. Food comes from its sister concern, Tertulia - excellent watermelon feta salad + chicken katsu sando for dinner and cacao bowl for breakfast.

If you're looking for a hotel in South-Central Mumbai, @thekinhotel is a great choice. Doubles around Rs. 10,000; our sea-view suite was about Rs.16,000 for a weekend stay (breakfast not included).

Isai Karai by CGH Earth Saha offers a peaceful get Isai Karai by CGH Earth Saha offers a peaceful getaway, just 10km from Mahabalipuram’s UNESCO-listed group of 7th- and 8th-century monuments, and under 90mins from Chennai airport.

With five beautifully done up rooms across two units, it is ideal for families, small groups, and multi-generational travel.

Three things I loved? Heritage chic aesthetic; home-style coastal cuisine; and direct beach access (just 150m away!)

Celebrated my birthday with the fam, some fab seafood, and then checked in for a staycation (details later!)
M A H A B A L I P U R A M Stunning monolithic mon M A H A B A L I P U R A M

Stunning monolithic monuments, stone-cut temples, and one of the largest bas reliefs in the world - the UNESCO World Heritage site of Mahabalipuram (Mamallapuram) is a sight to behold. The complex dates between the 7th and 9th centuries and was built during the reign of the Pallava dynasty.

Avoid the weekend rush and go early to beat the crowds (monuments open from 6am to 6pm, Rs. 40 for Indian visitors).

Still not over the stunning natural beauty of Abru Still not over the stunning natural beauty of Abruzzo’s great national parks!

From the Gran Sasso and its soaring peak, Corno Grande (the highest point in the Apennine Mountains) to the Majella, it's all about dramatic landscapes and ancient forests in this wild heart of Italy. Plus, there are charming hilltop villages to explore as well as the remains of Rocca Calascio fortres (pic 7), which was built between the 10th and 13th centuries.

Photos from two separate days - one beautifully curated by @exploringabruzzo and the other onboard the historic @ferroviadeiparchi train that took me on a scenic ride through the national parks, 101/0 would recommend both!

Dolce far niente — the sweetness of doing nothin Dolce far niente — the sweetness of doing nothing, albeit with a bittersweet drink in my hand.  And that's exactly what I did on my recent trip to Italy's glamorous Amalfi Coast!

I stayed at @anantaraconventodiamalfi where they signed me up for an amaro masterclass with Firar Marcus (pic 2), the hotel's history expert. In 2024, he developed an exclusive recipe of amaro (a bittersweet digestif) based on a medieval-era monks' recipe. Named Amaro Dei Cappuccini (pic 3), the liqueur is made with only five botanicals—wild fennel, myrtle, olive leaves, juniper, and basil picked fresh from the hotel’s garden.

In addition to the amaro tasting, the hotel's bar manager also mixed up his signature cocktail, Amalfitano (pics 1 & 4) for me. I took the bright-red drink onto the terrace, where it looked picture-perfect against the cobalt-blue Tyrrhenian Sea framed by Amalfi's pastel-hued cliffside facades.

Located in the heart of Ballard Estate, Grand Hote Located in the heart of Ballard Estate, Grand Hotel is a historic boutique hotel full of old-world charm. Founded in 1922, the hotel was designed by George Wittet who also designed landmarks such as the Gateway of India, The Prince of Wales Museum (now CSMVS), Institute of Science, etc. The magnificent stone facade, the sweeping red-tiled staircase, and the vintage lift with a crank lever (now for decorative purposes) all whisper of a bygone era.

Rooms are very spacious and well-appointed — we booked one of the harbour view rooms that retain the old-fashioned ambience and have sea views (albeit past a canopy of trees and several cranes). The refurbished executive rooms sport a more contemporary look, if that's what you prefer (there's no harbour view though). The in-house restaurant Cinnamon dishes up some tasty Indian, Chinese, and Continental fare, plus a good breakfast.

Overall fab location, VFM pricing, and attentive service. So if you're visiting Mumbai, @grandhotelmumbai is a great budget option - rooms start at Rs. 7,000++ and we paid Rs. 9,500++ for the harbour view room.
